Meredith Alderson
Hi, I’m Meredith Alderson.
I’m a co-founder of The Heyday Group and a top-producing Realtor® serving Austin and the surrounding communities. Over the years, I’ve built a business rooted in relationships, trust, and results, helping buyers, sellers, investors, and relocation clients navigate some of life’s biggest decisions with confidence.
Today, I’m proud to be recognized as one of Austin’s top 20 real estate agents. I’ve been named among the Top 1% of Austin Realtors®, earned multiple Austin Business Journal Residential Real Estate Awards, been recognized by Austin Home Magazine as a Top Agent, consistently received the Platinum Top 50 award, and have achieved eXp Realty ICON Agent status each year since joining. My business is 100% referrals and repeat clients, something I consider one of the greatest indicators of trust and exceptional client service.
Before real estate, I spent nearly two decades in the corporate world leading client relationships, consulting, and global account management for a Fin Tech company. That experience taught me how to negotiate strategically, solve complex problems, communicate clearly, and advocate fiercely for the people I serve today.
But what I’m most proud of isn’t an award or a sales number. It’s the reputation I’ve built.
The Heyday Group was founded on the belief that real estate should feel personal, empowering, and transparent. I believe people deserve expert guidance, honest advice, and an advocate who genuinely cares about the outcome. That philosophy has allowed me to build a business that continues to grow through trust, referrals, and long-term relationships.
As my business evolved, I began to realize I wasn’t simply building a successful real estate career. I was building a brand, a community, and a future. I wanted the freedom to think bigger, create bigger, and lead bigger than traditional brokerage models allowed.
That’s what ultimately led me to eXp Realty. I wasn’t looking for a new logo. I was looking for alignment.
I wanted a brokerage that matched my entrepreneurial mindset, valued agent ownership, embraced innovation, and provided opportunities to build wealth beyond transactions. When I discovered eXp, I found a model that supported the vision I had for my business and my future.
One of the most rewarding parts of that journey has been building the Shine Squad. What started as a desire to share ideas, collaborate, and support other agents has grown into a community of professionals who believe there is a better way to build a business. The Shine Squad is built on connection over competition, abundance over scarcity, and the belief that success is even more meaningful when it’s shared.
Watching agents gain confidence, grow their businesses, think bigger, and create opportunities for themselves and their families has become one of the most fulfilling parts of my career. I am incredibly proud of the community we’ve built and the culture we’ve created together. For me, the Shine Squad represents what real estate should be: collaborative, supportive, entrepreneurial, and focused on helping people reach their fullest potential.
And that’s what continues to inspire me every day. Not just growing my own business, but helping create an environment where others can find their shine, too.
We can’t go back in time, but here’s why I didn’t wait another year to take the leap to eXp…

Not the Instagram version. Not the buzzwords. The truth.
Brand control. I had worked hard to build a brand that people trusted. A brand that reflected my values, my standards, my client experience. I needed a brokerage that didn't just "allow" me to build a brand — but fully supported it. At eXp, your brand is the business. You're not asked to shrink it, tuck it away, or blend in. You get to expand. And that was everything.
The financial structure finally made sense. I love real estate — but at the end of the day, this is a business. I reached a point where I had to ask myself: why am I handing over such a large percentage of my income without receiving equal value back? At eXp, the model is built so that you keep more of what you earn. And when you help others grow, you're rewarded for it.
Access. Access to other top agents. Access to brokers in every state. Access to training that wasn't tied to one city or one building. Access to a national — and truly global — network. My business doesn’t stop at state lines, so why should my brokerage?
A seat at the table. I wanted to be part of a company where agents are not just handed decisions after they are made, but invited into the conversations before they are made. At eXp, agents have a voice. We help shape the tools, systems, and decisions that affect our businesses. Not because of a title. Not because of tenure. But because we are owners. And at eXp, ownership is not just a concept. It is something you can see, feel, and actually experience at every level of the company.

Looking back, there are things that would've changed my path sooner — if only I'd understood them.
Community isn't a building. I had this idea that connection could only exist in a brick-and-mortar office. But the truth? Most agents don't go into the office every day. We work from our car, our couch, a coffee shop, in between showings. We were already living a cloud-based life — just paying for buildings we weren't using. The real community isn't a building. It's the people. And eXp has people everywhere.
You're leaving more money behind than you realize. When you sit down and add up your splits, your cap, your monthly fees, your desk fees, your franchise fees — it's wild how much we hand over each year. Money that isn't building wealth. Money that isn't scaling your business. I assumed all brokerage models were the same. I just didn't know what I didn't know.
Your brokerage doesn't define you. The reality is — your clients don't care what your brokerage logo is. Your success doesn't disappear because you change your email signature. What matters is you — your service, your heart, your consistency, your skill. If I'd understood that earlier, I would have made the move much sooner.

No two days look exactly the same, and that flexibility is one of the things I value most about this model.
A typical week might include team Zoom meetings, client appointments, happy hours with local agents, agent panels, and conversations with people visiting our Austin office. Some days are spent collaborating virtually with agents across the country, while others are centered around local events, in-person meetings, and time with my team.
This structure allows me to build my schedule around the needs of my clients and business rather than around a traditional office environment. I can move easily between serving clients, leading my team, creating content, developing new ideas, and connecting with other agents.
It also gives me greater control over how I reinvest in my business. Because of the model at eXp, the money I don’t give away to my brokerage can go directly back into my team, marketing, technology, events, client experiences, and the tools that help me continue to grow and provide a higher level of service.
For me, the benefit is having the freedom to work in a way that is flexible, connected, and aligned with how real estate is actually done today.
